'the Kitten and the Bear' is created by Sami Mason. 

Sami lives in Kent, England with her partner, Chris, and their two adorable balls of fluff, Leia and Igor. Sami and Chris have always referred to one another with a range of disgustingly adorable nicknames, but the ones that have stuck are 'Kitten' for Sami and 'Bear' for Chris.

Sami has always been creative and has been obsessed with all manner of performance, comedic and visual arts since she was a little girl. In the Autumn of 2023, she found herself stuck in a rut, longing for a career change that could allow her to channel her creativity.

What started as a quick sketch one gloomy afternoon, inspired by Chris and Sami's affectionate nicknames for one another, soon developed into the creation of two adorable characters - Delilah and Kenneth, a.k.a. the Kitten and the Bear.

Combining Sami's love for whimsical characters and a slightly obsessive knitting hobby, the Kitten and the Bear quickly spiralled into unique greeting cards and prints, original fabric designs, and fabulous accessories. A few years on, Sami has created over 40 different animal characters, all of whom have been lovingly designed to honour specific friends and family members.
